The Muslim Youth Foundation Of Southern Kaduna (MYFOSKA) Youth Wing Of Southern Kaduna Muslims Ummah Development Association (SOKAMUDA) has called on Kaduna State Government not to relent in ensuring that perpetrators of the killings in Kajuru local government area of the state are brought to book accordingly.
According to the group, only true justice can bring to an end the recurring crisis in the area as contained in a statement issued by the group and signed by Muhammed K. Bello
The statement stated that the entire Muslim Ummah in Southern Kaduna is worried with “the rising number of gruesome and unwarranted murder of members of its communities across various local communities in parts of the State, especially Southern Kaduna area evidently planned and carefully executed in a genocide-like manner”.
The group alleged that “More than 7 Fulani communities were attacked and destroyed; over 120 people were slaughtered and the bodies burnt.
“To put the record straight, on Monday, 11th of February, 2019, about 112 people were killed out of which funeral prayer was observed for only charred bodies of 66 persons; some were burnt beyond recognition while others could not be found.
“Unfortunately, while SOKAPU has been trying to politicize the unwarranted killings, it was an attempt to divert the attention of the world from these facts by trying to accuse the Governor, whose political focus has always been countered by SOKAPU and its supporters.
“We, therefore, call on the Kaduna State Government not to relent in its effort to bring to book all those involved in this dastardly act even if to serve as deterrence to others. Also, we are calling on government and any concerned citizen to promptly respond to the growing humanitarian needs of the victims of the crises.
“We recognize and commend the commitment of the El-rufai’s Administration in dealing with the security situation especially in this era of elections. This was different from the manner previous governments in the State did.
“Therefore, we demand that the unalienable and constitutional rights of our people to live and vote during and after the elections should also be upheld.
“Certainly, if care is not taken and fast, such carnage will not end because criminals do not face justice. They must be fished out and punished in accordance with the extant law. Any failure to bringing these criminals to face justice will as usual only embolden them, their sponsors who always speak fin for their defence and others to further commit more crimes.
“Finally, while we continue to pray that the Most Compassionate and Most Powerful Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala avenge the injustice and wickedness perpetrated against all the innocent victims of Kajuru butchery.
“Equally, we call on all Muslims to be law abiding and live in peace with their neighbors. We pray Allah SWT in His infinite mercy to guide us aright, to make us live in peace and harmony, to expose the perpetrators of crisis in Kaduna state and other parts of Nigeria. We pray for hitch-free elections”.
